What are Your Fiber Resolutions?
So a week into 2009, most are hard at working keeping their New Year's resolutions. Many plan to loose weight, spend more time with family or exercise more. I have made resolutions like those, as well as one more to take a real vacation with my husband Glenn. I have also made fiber-related resolutions. These are much more fun to me than exercising and loosing weight!
I want to crochet more. Seems simple. But I want to be more creative. I want to push my boundaries. I want to do more freeform. I want to create more original patterns and work to have them published.
I also want to spin more. I want to learn how to use the lovely supported spindle I purchased this fall. I want to work to learn to better understand the properties of fiber from different sheep.
Most importantly, I want to continue to share my love of fiber with others. I want others to experience the feeling of accomplishment of finishing a project made for a special someone and learn to find inspiration everyone around them!
What are your fiber resolutions???

My fiber resolution is to figure out a way to motivate my wife to make the hat and scarf kits for our daughter. I bought her two kits a while back and they are still just sitting there. I know she will enjoy them, but she just can't get going.
Any suggestions?

LOL...sometimes starting a project can feel pretty daunting. Something I do to help get me going when I need to get started on a project that "just isn't doing it for me" is to visit a favorite yarn shop and feel all the yarns and look at all the "samples" of the finished projects created from that yarn. To see and hold in my hands a finished project created from a particular yarn really helps me connect to the sense of accomplishment related to that piece!
The other possibility is for you to learn how to knit or crochet and work on those projects with her! It would be a great way to share something special!
Good luck and keep us all posted!
