The Next Big Project
Now that the frenzy to complete projects for the holidays are all but over, it is now time to decide on the next big project for YOU! I have already started my project and I have been working on for a while in bits and pieces.I am doing a "puzzle blanket." What is that you ask? It is my own stitch study with some of my favorite yarns I have collected along the way, but never knew what to do with them. Each square is a different size and a stitch. I have been making squares for awhile and decided today was the day to start assembling. I am stitching each square together using Lion Brand's Jiffy in Apple Green using a single crochet for added texture.
I've always loved geometric shapes - square, rectangles, circles and the like. When I occasionally doodle, I often start with a rectangle and then keep adding and dividing that rectangle to continue to make geometric shapes. That's my inspiration for this project. Another reason is that while I hate making "big" projects, I love the warmth of a blanket on my lap. By making small shapes I can work on it when I want and not feel guilty staring at a huge WIP (work in progress). A friend joked once I have "crochet ADD." I think she's right. This satisfies my ADD and my crochet-blanket need at the same time!
So, what are your plans for your first "me" project after the holiday season? I would love to hear about it!
